Deer, summer 2009


This quickly put together deer, now standing in the front yard of our home in Magdalena, NM, is cut from Juniper trees on our ranch land. Jim and I searched for the just the right branch for the head and antlers. The eye was an lucky accident.

Cape May, October 2007


This is the first in a series of paintings capturing the reaction of my grandchildren's experience with the majesty of the ocean. Maggie had never seen the ocean, Laz, not since he was too young to remember. Our Cape May trip was the high point of their two week visit.

I painted this picture from a photograph of a woman from the Kunene region of northwest Namibia. The background is a view from the road that runs from Magdalena to Socorro, New Mexico.
